Marina Manager's Update June 2011

Summer has been and gone, the last long weekend until October has passed, and winter is upon us. We have already had a few patches of nasty weather - a timely reminder to ensure all bow and stern ropes are checked and in good condition. If your ropes need replacing please contact our Operations Manager Steve Fort (steve@pineharbour.co.nz) or phone (09) 536 4720.

Dredging of the channel and marina basin is scheduled to commence in July, pending availability of the barge.

Work is still underway on E Pier, upgrading the Electrical Units to comply with E.S.A. regulations. We will then move progressively down the marina until all Piers have been upgraded.

We have received a number of calls regarding the Tide Data board by the security hut. This been removed temporarily for upgrading and it is expected we will have it back in operation in early July. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Our new 90 seater ferry – Clipper IV – will be ready for service mid-late August and extensions have been made on A Pier to accommodate the new ferry.

A survey is currently underway on the risk of non-indigenous species biofouling on recreational vessels in berths and on swing moorings in the Auckland region. If you would like more information, or to complete the survey, please click here.

Safe Boating . . .
